okay so that last post ended pretty abruptly and there is a reason for that...a thunderstorm! it was a sweet one too- part of a tree fell down at my in laws house! but i ended so early in my post because i had to shut down my computer right away... and that left with the quick ending -
"b. our computer got stolen."
with no explanation. i was going to say that about three weeks ago our computer got stolen from our apartment. it was actually a bit of a scary situation to come home with james only to find our computer gone and the sliding glass door open. that said i really don't mind that our computer was actually stolen, just everything that was on it was. including baby james pictures. rats. but the reason that i do bring it up is to inform my faithful readers (all three of you) that though i am posting ago don't stop checking back if it takes me a couple of days to put something up! we are back to using our in laws computer, so i only update when i come here. but i will try to be more faithful and put a thought up here once in a while. or as often as i can.
dave and i and james went on a run today! he did so well (james that is) and didn't make a peep the whole way (a good two miles too!) we are all training to run the lindsay race on the forth and hopefully, eventually a half marathon come october. but again, we'll take it one step at a time. literally.
it was a really nice run...except for when we came home. we dropped james off with auntie suse so dave and i could go jump in the lake real quick to cool off. it was really fun to because we took the moped down and for a couple brief fleeting moments i felt like i was a young teenager in love on a sunny aternoon day. but anyways back to the main story. when we came back from the lake and to our son his whole right eye was covered in some sort of rash. apparently it's possible that when baby sweat and baby sunblock mix, a rash can develop. my heart sank to find my son in such a state and in near tears i took him in my arms only to look into his splotchy red eye. i felt like such a bad mom. luckily, with a nurse, bath and time later, his eye seems to be back to normal. but i felt so bad walking in a seeing him like that! it was weird though his eye was completely fine, just the skin around it was affected and only on his left side. weird. so now that i have gone on and on about what happened and how bad i felt to see my son in such a state, i hope that the baby Gods have forgiven me.
also, dave and i are planning on going on a date tonight! weee! who knows what we will do, but mimi is on duty. maybe we can go shopping and buy me a swimsuit and that orchid halter top from old navy i've been wanting? not the most fun date for dave, but i'd enjoy myself! :)
well this has turned into a much longer post than planned and unfortunately i have one more thing to say. i just wanted to add that lately james has been talking. like "oooo's and ahhhhh's." it's pretty cute and started about a week ago. it mostly happens at random times but sometimes when he's looking intently at a toy he will have a serious face and a big "oooo" will come out of his cute little mouth. it's a pretty great trick to see!
well that's all for now. j.r. is taking a nap with dad and there is a slight breeze coming through the window. all is right with the world...

So sorry to hear about James' eye! That is no fun. Believe me, I know how it feels to feel like a "bad mom" when stuff like that happens. Tessa had that horrible rash all over her legs for like two weeks because of something I'd done, presumably.. it's still sort of there. Ugh.
Hope your date was lots of fun! I continue to be jealous of your ability to leave your baby with people and go out! I know, I know, it's my own fault-- you moved from CA to somewhere where there were people and I of course had to move away... what was I thinking. :)
We've all been there...you will probably be there again. But babies (and kids) are pretty tough and forgiving. So give yourself grace!
