so my son has this rather substantial sized pimple on the end of his nose right now. luckily for him, he's not eighteen and this is not the week of the prom, so he has nothing to worry about. if he was, i'd probably be feeling pretty sorry for him and the frantic state in which he would find himself in. fortunately, it just looks cute on him now...
...but a not so cute thing is that the little mr. is deciding not to go to sleep tonight. i bounced/rocked him for about 40 minutes with no results, dave did the same for about 30 and just as he set him down, he's awake. so now we are starting the whole cycle again. doesn't he know that sleep is a very very good thing, a thing mom and dad are wishing to do now, and that if he gave in, he'd actually really like it? unfortunaly, the answer is no. oh well. at least he'll sleep good for the night, and maybe take some good naps tommorrow? we'll see...
...this weekend was eventful. friday was spent at my friend jes's house. the girls from our life group (small group) were all getting together. we were without our husbands because normally, when we do get together the genders end up splitting up anyways, so instead of pretending to have a fun couples night, we just started out seperated. it was a very nice time with very nice food. and james was good! hurrah! then saturday dave and i went to gull lake high school's variety show, "glitter." it was fun to be out, and there were some good acts. however, there were some very bad acts too. the kind where you feel embarrased for the people on stage? yep, that kind. but all in all, it was a fun weekend. (oh- and i also got a 3 1/2 hour nap on sunday. how indulgent. but in my defense, james came and nurse halfway through and then slept with me, so i wasn't totally alone...)
...also, today was opening day! and the cubbies didn't do so hot- but who did? fukudome! he's the new japanese import and did an amazing job today. my japanese heritage is swelling with pride. okay, no heritage, but i do love all things japan! in the bottom of the ninth when it was 3-0 brewers, he swings in and bats a homer, getting three points for the cubbies. unfortunately, we lost, but it is sure fun to have baseball back!
tomorrow my goal is to finally get all my thank-you notes done from james birth. cross your fingers for productivity.

ah, somehow I missed your post! Glad you've had some frequent updates lately. :) And I am sorry about the no sleeping. As you well know, I can definitely sympathize w/ ya there. And I will hope that your sleeplessness won't last going-on nine months like mine. :)
