so here we go...

this is officially my first post. it has been quite fun trying to figure out this new site...but i am wondering, and will have to ask karly, how to do all the changes to your background? it seems quite confusing and complicated. other than that, i feel that i am quite comfortable with blogspot, as long as they don't start to automatically put advertisements on my site. then i will be forced to go elsewhere. but for now, this seems like a good place to settle down.

it's only about 4 weeks until h.b. is due, and i am realizing certain important tasks must be done. for one, getting a mattress for said baby's crib before said baby arrives. other odds and ends of baby shopping does have to occur as well. but for now, i'm just excited to meet this little baby!

also, this past friday i left work early due to nauseousness and pain in my lower right half of my back. after calls to the midwife, a trip to the hospital, a ultrasound of my kidneys and diagnosis by the doctor, i had a blocked and inflamed kidney. now, whether this was due to a. a kidney stone or b. my baby, now one is sure. but each are a completely viable option as stated by my doctor. the only complaint i have of the whole ordeal (okay, well maybe there are two) is that a. it is not fun to be 35 weeks pregnant and have severe back pain without knowing why and b. being 35 weeks pregnant and knowing why you are having pain, but needing to wait one hour for your pain medication to be filled at meijer by the pharmacist. that was a very long weight! but apparently, tylenol with codeine does the trick. that and sleeping on the other side of your inflamed kidney to have your baby move to the other side of your body.

more baby updates later. i do have my next appointment on the 11th. let's hope for good marks!
