because that's was dave, susie and i did today.
we ran in the 45th annual turkey trot race at western michigan university. it was my first experience running in the cold, and i have to say, despite being only 12 degrees with snow on the ground, it wasn't that bad. it was a fun experience, with lots of middle schoolers and such running in the race. dave ran up ahead and susie and i kept it pretty solid in the middle of the pack. though my lungs where mildly burning by the end, i'm definitely going to have to do this race again next year! it is a nice feeling to come back after the race with hot chocolate and jump into a hot tub. nothing beats that feeling. (thank goodness the hocker's have a hot tub to make that all possible). now after some lunch, i'm off for a nap. what a perfect day. oh- and dave's taking me out on a surprise date later. could this day get any better?

The past 2 years I volunteered at the Turkey Trot (semi-required when I worked at the Rec)...and almost ran in it Saturday, except I didn't know anyone else running in it. Bummer. But glad you liked it! Haha, and isn't the opening hill right out of the Rec great!
So proud of you! And in that cold weather! You are crazy! Can't wait to see you in like 3 days!
